We were saddened to learn about the recent passing of John Yonazi Salehe, Founder and Chairperson of Nature Tanzania. John trained as a forester and subsequently held senior positions with several national and international environmental conservation organisations. His energy, enthusiasm and wisdom made him a highly effective conservation champion. John was deeply committed to raising awareness in young people about the value of nature and the need to protect the environment. This was reflected in activities in many Nature Tanzania initiatives, including the Biodiversity Monitoring (BiMO) training for young ecologists which Live Streams has been pleased to support. We send our condolences to John’s colleagues, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
